FIRST - Fireworks Incident Research Safety Team

FIRST is now offering Fire and Rescue Authorities, Police Authorities, Trading Standards and any other organisation having a responsibility for the management of explosives, a range of services.

It has developed a national training course, which is delivered at the Fire Service College and has been verified by the Institute of Explosives Engineers. The course covers incident management, legislation and enforcement, forensic principles and many other key areas for dealing with firework misuse.

The secure Members Login on the website allows members to access some of the more sensitive information - reports of incidents, downloads of guidance material, importation information and updates of ongoing incidents and operations.

The team will also give advice to enforcing authorities on fireworks and explosives issues.
